Carlo Ledesma

Carlo Ledesma is an award-winning filmmaker with a career that spans over fifteen years in film, radio, theatre, and television.

Originally from the Philippines, he worked as a senior producer on the acclaimed sports and travel show Gameplan. The show won several Mass Media Awards and gained a strong cult following.

In 2004 Carlo moved to Sydney Australia to pursue a Masters degree in Film, and has since directed several films and commercial campaigns. In 2007, his short film The Haircut was awarded the Mini Movie Channel Award for Best Short Film at the Cannes Film Festival. Also in that same year, Carlo directed a feature-length documentary for Nike called My Game, which explored the Philippines’ devout passion for basketball.

He made his narrative feature film debut in 2011 with Distracted Media’s The Tunnel which was distributed in Australia and New Zealand through Paramount Pictures’ Transmission Films and distributed in North America through Blackrock Films.

Most recently he directed the pilot episode of Event Zero, a web series for Movie Extra which won Webfest 2012. He has also finished writing Outside, a psychological thriller script, which was funded by Screen NSW.

Carlo is slated to direct the US feature film, Hinterland, with Cinetic Media and Dobre Films, later this year.
